CONCEPTS ON PAPER

PARSONS SCHOOL OF DESIGN . BFA . INSTRUCTOR: JEREMY BARBOUR . DESIGN STUDIO 1 . FALL 2015 . NEW YORK, USA

Architectural constrains are found in each and every project we design. Besides those, codes and rules should also be followed in order to make sure that the building will be safe for its users. With this in mind, all paper models had the same constrains when built: a 10” x 8” piece of paper that could be scored or cut (but no pieces could be removed) and one of the faces should be painted red. All this was done with the aim of producing a series of architectural studies for potential buildings or residences.

The result was a series of 20 models divided into four categories (respective columns): vessel, threshold, passage and envelope.
